(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — House Commerce Committee Chairman Timothy Hill (R-Blountville) today joined with AT&T to present a $500 check to Second District Volunteer Fire Department.
The funds will be used to support the department’s operations and emergency response to calls in Mountain City and Johnson County.
“The Second District Volunteer Fire Department does an incredible job, and this funding will enhance the lifesaving services they provide our citizens,” said Chairman Hill. “I am proud to partner with AT&T to ensure Second District has the support and resources the department needs in order to effectively serve our community, and I remain committed to fighting for our volunteer firefighters across our region and throughout this state.”
“Chairman Hill has been an incredible advocate for our community and for this fire department, and we are forever grateful to him for his dedication and support,” said Second District Safety Officer Tony Johnson. “We are a small community, and our department is constantly training and looking for new ways we can better serve our citizens. This funding will help make us even more effective in these efforts.”
“Volunteer firefighters go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis, and their departments are always looking for ways to raise revenue in order to cover operational costs and support them,” said AT&T Regional Director Alan Hill. “We thank them for taking care of our communities across Tennessee.”
