Rep. Timothy Hill elected Republican Caucus Whip

State Representative Timothy Hill (R–Blountville) was elected last week by his peers as Republican Caucus Whip during a special-called meeting to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of
Rep. Jeremy Durham.
“It is very humbling to be entrusted by fellow members of the House Republican Caucus with such an important task,” said Representative Hill. “I will be working hard on behalf of my colleagues as we move
toward election day.” Duties of the Republican Whip include coordinating communications
between membership and caucus leaders, counting votes on important pieces of Republican-backed legislation to ensure passage, and serving in the important role of Chairman of the Republican Caucus Campaign Committee. The Republican Whip serves as the fourth ranking officer of the Caucus.
“This is a perfect role for Representative Hill and I am confident he will serve both our Caucus and the people of Tennessee to the absolute best of his ability,” said House Caucus Chairman Glen Casada. “I look forward to working with him in his new leadership position in the coming days.”
