Student Board Member Blake Robinson shared his report with those in attendance. While the students at JCHS are soaking up the sun of summer or sleeping a little later than they should be like some of us, the staff at JCHS is working hard to make the 2013-2014 school year a year to remember. To kick off this upcoming year, JCHS will be holding New Student Registration on July 23rd, 24th, and 30th. I look forward to meeting my new fellow classmates and welcoming them to Johnson County. On July 31st, JCHS will be having Freshman Kick off day from 11:00 to 2:00. All upcoming freshmen are welcome to attend and get familiar with how high school life will be. For seniors, picture Make Up Day will be on July 26th at the high school. 10th-12th graders will be able to pick up their schedules on July 26th and August 1st. They will also be able to make any changes to their schedules on those dates if they choose to. Freshmen will be able to pick up their schedules and be able to make changes on August 1st. JCHS will also be hosting High School Open House on August 13th at 6:00 PM for any students or parents that would like to attend. Lastly, I am proud to announce that Ryan Guzman, who graduated this past school year placed 1st at the HOSA Nationals for Extemporaneous Writing. Ryan was given a random topic on healthcare and was put up against the best and brightest health occupation students in the country. Ryan had previously placed 3rd in the state conference a few months ago. In closing, I would like to thank Jacob for being an extraordinary mentor and helping me learn the ropes this past year and I look forward to serving as the 2013-14 Student Board Member.
