Local hats thrown into the election ring

Individuals who are seeking elected Johnson County positions must pick up and file their petitions by 12:00 noon tomorrow, April 1, 2010. The county election will be held on August 5, 2010.
The names on the following list indicate the name and date of individuals who have picked up and filed their petitions for County Mayor: Jerry Jordan, picked up his petition on 1/4/10, filed on 1/11/10; Kevin D. Parsons, picked up his petition on 2/4/10, filed on 3/24/10; Larry Potter, picked up his petition on 2/9/10, filed on 3/3/10; Donald W. Snyder, petition picked up on 2/17/10, petition filed on 2/19/10; David Pleasant, petition picked up on 3/11/10, petition filed on 3/19/10.
The following individuals have picked up their petitions but as of press time have not yet filed their petitions for the office of County Mayor: Paul Gobble, 1/19/10; Ray H. Allen, 2/1/10; Willis Walker, 3/17/10; Ronnie Perkins, 3/22/10 and Scott Teague, 3/24/10.
The following individuals have picked up and filed their petitions for the office of County Sheriff: Benny J. Cornell, petition picked up on 1/5/10, petition filed on 2/24/10; Mike Reece, petition picked up on 1/7/10, filed on 1/14/10. Reece has been certified as eligible for the position of county sheriff. Roger Gentry picked up his petition on 1/28/10 and filed on 2/19/10. Gentry has also been certified as eligible for the position of county sheriff. Edward F. Hoak picked up his petition on 2/01/10 and filed the petition on 2/9/10. Hoak also has been certified as eligible for the position of county sheriff.
The following individuals have picked up their petitions but as of press time have not yet filed their petitions for the office of County Sheriff: Eddie Tester, 1/18/10; Jody Putnam, 1/21/10 and Ricky L. Dean, 3/15/10.
The following individuals have picked up and filed their petitions for the office of Road Superintendent: Tony K. Jennings, picked up the petition on 1/5/10 and filed the petition on 2/19/10. Jennings’ qualifications for the office of road superintendent have been received. John D. Ward picked up the petition on 1/7/10 and filed on 1/26/10; Ricky L. Curd, petition picked up on 1/11/10 and filed on 2/12/10. Curd’s qualifications have also been received for the office of road superintendent. Boyd Pardue, petition picked on 2/25/10, filed on 3/17/10; Mack Stout, petition picked up on 2/16/10 and filed on 3/17/10. Stout’s qualifications have been received for the office of road superintendent.
The following individuals have picked up their petitions but as of press time have not yet filed their petitions for the office of Road Superintendent: Danny D. Fletcher, 1/4/10; Blair Lambert, 1/15/10 and Blake Stout, 3/4/10.
The following individual has picked up and filed the petition for the office of Circuit Court Clerk: Carolyn Wilson Hawkins, petition was picked up on 1/4/10 and filed on 2/7/10. As of press time, no other individuals have picked up or filed a petition for this position.
The following individuals have picked up and filed their petition for the office of County Clerk: Tammie C. Fenner, petition was picked up on 1/4/10 and filed on 2/7/10; Doug McGlamery, petition picked up on 3/5/10 and filed on 3/12/10. There are no other individuals as of press time have not picked up a petition for this position.
The following individual has picked up and filed the petition for the office of Register of Deeds: Trish Hartley, petition picked up on 1/6/10 and filed on 2/7/10. As of press time, no other individuals have picked up a petition for the office of Register of Deeds.
At press time, Sue Hensley is the only individual who has picked up and filed her petition for the position of Trustee. Henley picked up the petition on 1/6/10 and filed on 2/7/10.
For the office of County Commissioner, District One, the following individuals have picked up and filed their petition for County Commissioner: Bill Adams, picked up 1/18/10 and filed 2/22/10; Jack Profitt, picked up 2/24/10 and filed on 3/15/10; Dean Winters, picked up on 2/26/10 and filed on 3/1/10; Mike Taylor, picked up on 3/15/10 and filed on 3/24/10; Mike Tavalario, picked up on 3/15/10 and filed on 3/24/10; Shirley Storie, picked up on 3/23/10 and filed on 3/29/10.
The following individuals have picked up their petitions for the office of County Commission, District One, but as of press time have not filed their petitions: Barbara Dunn, picked up 3/12/10 and Elizabeth J. Taylor, picked up 3/15/10.
For the office of County Commissioner, District Two, the following individual has picked up and filed his petition: Lester Dunn, picked up 1/18/10 and filed on 2/22/10. As of press time, the following individuals have picked up their petitions but have not yet filed: Larry Nichols, 2/4/10 and Jeff S. Wagner, 2/26/10.
For the office of County Commissioner, District Three, the following individuals have picked up and filed their petitions: Jerry Grindstaff, picked up 1/26/10 and filed 2/26/10; Dean Stout, picked up 2/12/10 and filed on 3/15/10. As of press time, the following individuals have picked up their petitions but have not yet filed: Jody Putnam, 1/21/10 and Freddie Phipps, 2/16/10.
For the office of County Commissioner, District Four, the following have picked up and filed their petitions: Jonathan Pleasant, picked up 1/6/10 and filed 2/10/10; Gary Phillips, picked up on 1/26/10 and filed 3/15/10; Glenn Arney, picked up on 2/26/10, filed on 3/26/10. The following individuals have picked up the petition but as of press time have not filed: Ronnie Perkins, picked up 3/22/10 and Ricky L. Snyder, picked up on 3/25/10.
For the office of County Commissioner, District Five, the following have picked up and filed their petitions: Lynn Snyder, picked up 2/11/10, filed 3/22/10; Jimmy Lowe, picked up 3/2/10, filed 3/18/10; Jerry W. Gentry, picked up 3/12/10, filed 3/29/10. The following have picked up but have not yet filed their petition as of press time: April Dunn, 1/13/10; John Brookshire, 3/8/10.
For the office of County Commissioner, District Six, Lydia Lewis picked up her petition on 3/15/10 and filed on 3/29/10. Kenneth Sluder, 1/22/10 and Huey Long, 3/29/10, have both picked up their petitions but as of press time have not yet filed.
In District Seven, Gina Meade picked up her petition for the office of County Commissioner on 2/16/10 and filed on 3/12/10. Roby Dunn, 2/26/10 and Emily Milsaps, 3/10/10 have picked up their petitions but as of press time have not yet filed.
For the office of Constable, Bill Gentry for District One has picked up his petition but as of press time has not yet filed. James E. Brown, picked up 2/8/10 and filed 3/10/10. In District Two, the following individuals have picked up and filed their petition: Norman E. Miller, 1/4/10, filed 3/2/10; Earl S. Johnson, 1/8/10, filed 1/26/10; Robert Wayne Blevins, 3/8/10, filed 3/15/10. In District Three, Jewell Williams has picked up the petition for office of Constable, but as of press time has not yet filed. Joshua Lawley picked up the petition on 3/10/10 and filed on 3/17/10.
For the office of School Board, in District One, Howard Carlton picked up the petition on 2/8/10 and filed on 3/2/10. In District Three, Gerald Buckles, 2/8/10, filed 3/8/10; Kenneth Gregg, 2/11/10, filed 3/2/10; Kevin Long, 3/2/10, filed 3/29/10.
For the office of Executive Committeeman for the Republican Primary, Ray A. Comeaux, 2/26/10, filed 3/22/10. Executive Committeewoman Linda D. Buckles, filed duplicate certification 3/29/10. For the office of Executive Committeewoman for the Democratic Primary, Linda Dotson, filed duplicate 3/12/10. For the office of Executive Committeeman, Bruce Dotson, filed duplicate 3/12/10; Joe Mike Akard, filed duplicate 3/22/10.
For the office of First Public Defender, Jeff Kelley filed duplicate on 1/21/10. For the office of State Representative, District Three, the following individuals have filed : Scotty L. Campbell, Republican, filed original petition 3/29/10; Thomas White, Independent, filed certified duplicate 3/26/10, Marvin Gurley, Republican, filed certified duplicate, 3/29/10, and Parke S. Morris, filed certified duplicate 3/30/10.
