Law enforcement apprehends Isaacs after extensive search
According to a Johnson County Sheriffs department press release, the Johnson County Sheriffs office was still looking early Tuesday morning for a subject that jumped out of a vehicle and fled on foot in the Holy Hill area of Johnson County last night.
An update from the sheriffs office at press time Tuesday evening states the subject, Steve Isaacs, was apprehended by law enforcement in Johnson County. He will face the following charges: fleeing arrest by motor vehicle, burglary, theft of a vehicle times two and resisting arrest. The incident is still under investigation and other charges may be pending.
According to the press release, a Johnson County officer attempted to stop a vehicle after the tag came back stolen.
Tennessee Highway Patrol, Mountain City Police and Johnson County Sheriffs office were involved in the search. Officers combed the area, checking barns and abandoned vehicles.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol aircraft was used to check the forest area surrounding the incident for safety reasons. According to the press release, the suspect has ties to Johnson County as well as the Knoxville area.
