Independence Day celebration to take place June 29 this year

The Chamber of Commerce will be holding this year’s Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 29th, rather than on the fourth of July as usual. Following is the schedule for the day. With the exception of the parade, all events will be held at Ralph Stout Park. The parade will be on the usual route that ends on Main Street.

All day activities include water slide, obstacle course, train rides, vendors , food etc. with free admission.
Walkers, riders, floats, horses, etc. are still being sought for the parade. Call 727-5800 or 727-8460 for more information or to enter a unit in the parade. Parade lineup is at 4 p.m. at Mountain City Elementary.
Contestants for the Duck Dynasty look-alike contest are still needed. To enter, simply show up at the stage at 5 pm. to register. You may call 727-8460 for more information about this event.
