Habermehl home featured in Tour of Homes

The home of Lyle and Kendall Habermehl
In keeping with the new life that has been breathed into RedTail Mountain Resort, the Habermehls have brought to life their newly acquired mountain home that was started six years ago but only partially finished.
Upon arrival, one can’t help but feel they have been transported into a fairytale storybook. The massive, hand-hewn tree trunks, shake shingles and log and rock exterior are reminiscent of Sleeping Beauty’s woodland cottage. In the entry is a custom designed and built staircase incorporating wooden slabs and wrought iron to create a floating, open feel. Straight through the entry is a gorgeous free-form deck complete with outdoor fireplace. The tree trunks and rock continue to the interior in the form of huge supports in the living room and massive rocks surrounding the fireplace. 100-year-old barn beams adorn the vaulted ceilings in the living room and two of the bedrooms, and the third bedroom’s ceiling has a beautiful wooden stair-step effect. Each bedroom has its own full bath, with playful shapes and curves featured in some of the walls.
Lyle’s many years in the design and construction field, and Kendall’s flair for interior finishes were a perfect match when bringing this beautiful house to completion. Under Lyle’s direction, the team of Jimmy Jennings and Adam Sauer has worked their craftsmanship to incorporate the many unique elements found inside and outside the home.
The Habermehls extend a warm invitation to come and tour their home this Christmas season in support of the Rotary Tour of Homes.
