Frank Grayson, master fiddler and craftsman, dies at home at age 81

Johnson County native Frank Grayson, age 81, of 421 N. Church Street, Mountain City, TN passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at his residence. He loved old time music, was a master fiddler and a master craftsman. Over the years he played with various well known musicians including Doc Watson and Tom Ashley and his Tennessee Merry Makers. Frank is listed in the music archives at East Tennessee State University and Appalachian State University.
Mr. Grayson was well loved and respected in the music community and the community at large. He made fiddle-playing an art form and helped put Johnson County on the map with his talents.
