Chamber kicks of ‘Buy at Home’ Campaign

What could be better for economic growth than to buy at home this holiday season? The Johnson County Chamber of Commerce is initiating a special campaign this year which offers prize incentives to those who make an effort to buy from Johnson County merchants.
“Buy at Home is your chance to positively impact our local economy by choosing locally owned businesses for holiday purchases,” explains Terry Warden, one of the coordinators of the idea. “Every time you purchase something in a local store which is a member of the Chamber, your name goes into a drawing for some magnificent prizes.”
According to Warden, prizes include grocery gift cards, gas cards, and free dinners at local restaurants.
“We also want to encourage local merchants to join the chamber during this campaign,” said Warden. “The Chamber of Commerce is not only a local organization but is also a national organization.” Becoming a member entitles the business advertise and referrals. “The Chamber will be glad to help with any grand opening, business announcements, or ribbon cutting,” said Warden.
Memberships help support a plethora of events throughout the year including the Christmas parade, Easter egg hunt, Legislative breakfast, and Fourth of July in the park.
