Bradley Howard charged with attempted murder of deputy

On February 29, 2012 Deputy Adam Guinn of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, received injuries while on duty. During the early morning hours, he responded to a call regarding a theft. While at the residence, Guinn began a chase on foot as the suspect fled. Following a struggle that resulted in the capture of the subject both went into the creek and were submerged in water. The officer received an injury to his lower extremities. Based on the high possibility of hypothermia and the length of time for emergency workers to get the officer to safety, Guinn was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center. According to Sheriff Mike Reece, Guinn has returned to work.
During the investigation, Bradley William Howard was arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary, Attempted Second Degree Murder, Theft of Property and Aggravated Assault. He is due to appear in court on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Johnson County.
Sheriff Reece thanks Johnson County Rescue Squad, Trade Fire Department and Mountain View Exxon for their assistance during this time.
