Blaze severely damages local fire department

An early morning electrical fire last Thursday severely damaged Second District Volunteer Fire Department Station #1 in Trade and three fire trucks that were inside the building, a tanker, brush truck and engine. Until the station is back in operation, other departments will be responding to fire calls.
According to Johnson County Emergency Management Director Jason Blevins, it is not known at this point how much money it will take to replace the lost equipment after the insurance pays. He says that almost immediately, the department was working on a plan to continue their service to the community.
As a member of the Neva Volunteer Fire Department, Rep. Scotty Campbell was one of the firemen that responded to the blaze. He has contacted Congressman Phil Roe and Senators Alexander and Corker about any assistance that may be available in the rebuilding effort. At the request of Fire Chief James Brown, Campbell spoke to WCYB TV news about the repair efforts. The video can be seen at http://www.wcyb.com/video/28776670/index.html.
