AT&T brings faster network to more Johnson County customers

BUTLER, Tenn., July 26, 2016 — AT&T <http://www.att.com/gen/landing-pages?pid=3309> 1 has added a new cell tower to its 4G LTE network in Butler along Sink Valley Rd. to give customers faster, more reliable wireless service in Johnson County.
The changes will help Butler customers get the most out of their mobile devices. With 4G LTE service, they’ll see better service when watching videos, posting to social media or texting family and friends.
“It is important to remember that without the actions taken by the general assembly to create an environment that fosters innovation and private investment, this type of announcement might not be possible,” said Johnson County Mayor Larry Potter.  “We all rely on wireless high-speed internet through these types of networks, and this investment is great for our community.”
“Expansions and enhancements of Butler’s communications networks are essential to making our community attractive to new business and to helping our current businesses be successful and create new jobs,” said Rep. Timothy Hill.  “These private investments also ensure our families and businesses have the connections they need to communicate in an increasingly digital age.”
“It is encouraging to see investment in the community that follows the pursuit of pro-business policies in the general assembly,” said Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey.  “As Tennesseans change how they communicate, it is imperative that we continue to pursue policies that promote investment and enhancement of our communication networks in Tennessee.”
“Residents in Butler can now enjoy faster mobile speeds,” said Alan Hill, regional director, external affairs, AT&T Tennessee. “We know our customers are living their lives on the go. We want to help them get the most out of their mobile devices, whether they’re watching videos, texting family and friends or posting to social media.”
At AT&T <http://about.att.com/category/all_news.html> , we’ve invested nearly $1.15 billion in our Tennessee wireless and wired networks during 2013 -2015. These investments drive a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses. They also enhance critical services that support public safety and first responders.
We constantly invest in our network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. This helps Tennesseans get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go.
