Arrest made in shooting incident at Village Apartments

Mountain City Police were dispatched to the Village Apartments on Monday, September 23, 2013 at approximately 12:12 pm in response to a reported shooting. Deputies from Johnson County’s Sheriff’s Department also responded to the incident. “Nobody was shot, “said Mountain City Police Chief Denver Church. “Somebody was shot at.” According to Church, Harold David Pugh was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and as a convicted felon with a firearm. According to eyewitness reports, an argument ensued between Pugh and Daniel Joseph Snyder over money. Reports indicate Pugh pulled out the gun and pulled the trigger. According to Church, Pugh fired a .22 automatic. Church explained the gun did not cycle and only one shot was fired. Snyder and a witness were able to get the gun from Pugh. Pugh, approximately 46 years old, was arrested and taken to Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and has been bound over to the Grand Jury.
