Wintroub responds to D.D.Nave letter

Dear Editor:

This is in response to the ubiquitous D.D. Nave of Elizabethton, TN, who so frequently “graces” this Letters page. In his 05/14/14 nattering, he pronounces “In truth, the only failures are those that die having not trusted Jesus as their Savior.”

So be warned, Jews, Moslems, atheists, agnostics, Wiccans, Hindus, and all the rest of you non-Christians out there. In Naveworld, you are all on the road to being A Failure. Not to failing sometimes; to BEING A Failure. The good news is that, to avoid this horrible Naveian fate, this stark “reality” of Failuredom, you needn’t actually succeed at anything. You need only Trust Jesus As Your Savior sometime before you die.

BUT… since you never know when you’re going to die, you probably should wear one of those bracelets, this one saying, “If I’m dead, please note that I Trusted Jesus As My Savior before I died. So tell D.D. Nave I am not a failure.”
This bracelet technique should work also for any of you meth-addled criminal lowlifes whose entire existence has been characterized by what normal people consider to be “failure”.
