Shrine Club is thankful for community support
To the Editor:
I take this opportunity to thank everyone who made our fundraising drive for the Shriner Childrens Hospitals such a great success. Members of the Johnson County Shrine Club worked tirelessly and with enthusiasm on the roadblocks. The people of this area were both patient and generous with us. The Levi Retiree Group cooked an amazing breakfast for almost 400 people and donated a record $2230 to the Shriner hospitals. Individual donations were also most generous. Thank you everyone for helping provide free care to crippled and burned children. There are 73 Johnson County children who have been or are now in care of our hospitals and they also thank you.
I am proud of the generosity of Johnson County and of the Johnson County Shrine Club whose membership has recently increased 70%. Johnson County contributions to the hospitals have increased 87% this year to over $15,000. The Club was recently recognized as Club of the Year in the upper East Tennessee area served by the Jericho Shrine in Kingsport.
Sincerely,
Robert Cress, President
Johnson County Shrine Club
