Russom thankful for community support

Dear Editor:

I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who helped make the Retirement Celebration for Jewell Hamm, Adult Ed. Supervisor, a huge success. Many hands make light the load….and believe me, I had tremendous help in planning, executing, and funding this special party, for a very special woman. I would first like to thank my distinguished guests, who took time out of their busy schedules to attend: Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, State Rep. Timothy Hill, Carter Co. Mayor Leon Humphrey, Johnson Co. Mayor Larry Potter, Troy Mumpower on behalf of State Comptroller Jason Mumpower, Sheriff Mike Reece, Marva Doremus – Director of Adult Ed. for the state of Tenn and some of her staff, The Tenn. AE Task Force, GED/HiSET testing staff from Northeast State and Tenn. Technology Center in Elizabethton, and supervisors, Central Office, teachers, and co-workers from across the county and state.
Several sponsors also helped contribute to our party: Food Lion, Food Country, House of Flowers, Johnson Co. Bank & Bill Brookshire, Johnson Co. Chamber of Commerce, Dan Lipford – Hux Lipford Funeral Home, Greg Miller with Lays Chips, The TAACE assoc. in Tenn, Larry Potter, Lawrence Keebler, Rose Rasmussen, Karla Prudhomme, and Ruth Ann Osborne.
Also, a great big thank you to the caterers: Jeanie Arnold and Vanessa Nelson…great job, ladies. And to my friends and co-workers who helped with the food and serving: Beverly McKinney, Line Stalvey, Linda Shell, Rose Rasmussen, Patty Smith, Linda & Benny Grindstaff
And last, but certainly not least: Central Baptist Church, who lent us their fellowship hall which made the event spectacular ! Such a beautiful venue …and Beverly McKinney….words cannot adequately tell you “thank you”….for your time, your expertise, and all your help ! What a wonderful team of people and a wonderful celebration for a truly remarkable lady, Jewell Hamm.
