Roan Creek Elementary principal is thankful for community support

Dear Editor:

We would like to express our thankfulness and gratitude to the faculty, staff, and students at Roan Creek Elementary. Our teachers come in each day ready to help educate the young minds of our students. They willingly sacrifice time each day before and after school, and even on weekends, to be fully prepared to instruct our students each day. Our students are so creative and imaginative, of which we are thankful. The classroom assistants go above and beyond their job description each day to help teachers and students succeed. We are truly appreciative to our office staff, nurse, and counselor who keep everything running smoothly. Our cafeteria staff and custodians are an integral part of our school team that we could not do without. We are grateful to have parents, grandparents, and community members who are willing to volunteer and support our school (too many to mention individually!) Your acts of kindness do not go unnoticed. We are appreciative of the donations, whether it be volunteer time or monetary donations for our Fall Festival, Hats for Hattieville, the United Way or our book fair.
President Theodore Roosevelt said, “Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds.” We are thankful to each of you who give each day in our school from the heart. We want to wish each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
