Prudhomme reflects on Wednesday Music Club

Dear Editor,

For well over 100 years, the ladies of the Wednesday Music Club have supported the arts in Johnson County. Though there have been many years where it seemed like the Wednesday Music Club members were alone in carrying the banner of the arts in our fair county, this certainly isn’t the case now!

The members of the Wednesday Music Club are thrilled about the revitalization of the arts here in Johnson County, and are especially thrilled about the renewed interest in and appreciation for our own Musical and Artistic Heritage here in the Mountains of East Tennessee.

The members of the Wednesday Music Club want to send out a big thank you to all involved in this revitalization process, including the committee and volunteers involved in the Musical Heritage event, Long Journey Home; Mike Taylor and the many involved in the wonderful JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) program; Cristy Dunn, Temple Reece and all those involved in the new Johnson County Arts Center;  Heritage Hall and Johnson County Community Theatre Board members and volunteers; The Sunrise Quilt Guild; The Johnson County Historical Society; local artists, musicians, actors, volunteers, donors, and all involved in promoting the arts in Johnson County.
Sincerely,

Karla Prudhomme
