President of Heating Fund gives thanks to al those that promote program

Dear Editor:
The Johnson County Emergency Heating Assistance for Seniors Fund would like to take a moment to thank all those involved in making our most recent fund raising endeavor a resounding success.
The Levi Ladies and the Modern Woodsmen, in particular, made this event a success. We all know how brutal the winters in Johnson County can be, and thanks to the Johnson County community we have been able to ensure that 20 low income senior citizens have not been without heat this winter so far.
We could never continue to help these community members if it weren’t for the support of the community. In particular, we would like to thank the Levi Ladies for all they do. They made the breakfast fundraiser possible and their talents ensured its success; the Heating Fund raised over $1,800 to help keep vulnerable seniors warm this winter. In fact, the ongoing dedication of the Levi Ladies to supporting philanthropic causes within Johnson County is awe inspiring and amazing. Johnson County would be a much poorer place without them.
Also, the Heating Fund would like to thank everyone who makes our mission possible. In addition to the Levi Ladies and Modern Woodsmen, we are supported by the Johnson County Community Foundation, the United Way, local businesses, churches and individuals who all give generously to keep people warm in dire situations. This year, in the midst of record breaking
cold weather, it’s essential to keep those less fortunate in our hearts and help when we can. Anyone who is interested in donating can send donations to The Johnson County Emergency
Heating Assistance for Seniors Fund, P.O. Box 208, Mountain City, TN 37683, or call Gwen Bell at 727-5726. The Heating Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation; all donations are tax
deductible and 100% of all funds collected are used directly to purchase heating fuel or energy for low income senior citizens in emergency situations. The Johnson County community has generously supported the Heating Fund and its mission, and we are all blessed to havesuch an amazing community of which to be a part.

Thank you,
Gwen Bell, President
Johnson County Emergency Heating Assistance for Seniors Fund
