Happy Birthday to Billy Graham

Billy Graham celebrates his 95th birthday on Thursday, November 7th. What Graham wants for his birthday is to share a new TV message, “The Cross,” as part of a nationwide evangelistic outreach called My Hope America with Billy Graham. Graham wants Christians to invite friends and neighbors who don’t know Jesus to their home for dessert or gather them at your church or favorite hangout. Then use a TV broadcast, DVD, laptop, or mobile device to show one of several new evangelistic programs featuring great music, life-changing testimonies and powerful messages from Billy Graham. Graham’s TV message will be on FOX News Channel and on Christian channels on November 7th. Next share your testimony of how Jesus forgave and changed you. Then ask your friends if they would like to make the same decision you did to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord and pray with them. See www.samaritanspurse.org.
We need to learn from the wisdom of our old-timers like Graham.
America needs revival more than ever and more than anything else. The idea of the average American town with white picket fences, manicured lawns, two cars in the garage and happy families is fiction. The real America isn’t picturesque, and underscores the need for Jesus who gives hope, saves souls and changes lives. If you live in the average town with 100 average neighbors-here’s the reality: three are grieving the death of a loved one, seven of your neighbors struggle with depression and some of these consider suicide, seven abuse or are addicted to drugs or alcohol, eight are without a job, 14 feel crippled by fear and anxiety, and 60 or 60 percent don’t profess to be born again Christians. Jesus said, “we must be born again,” as once isn’t enough!
Also in November is the Graham ministry, Operation Christmas Child. Shoeboxes are packed to share the joy of Christmas and tell the Good News of Jesus with a child overseas who has nothing. The drop-off dates are November 18-25. One drop off location for Mountain City is First Baptist Church of Mountain City. The stars from Duck Dynasty are supporting this ministry. Uncle Si is packing a shoebox and says, “Pack a shoebox, Jack!”
