Freyermuth says campaign signage creates an eyesore

Dear Editor:

My heart goes out to our county workers who are responsible for maintaining all roads leading into Mountain City. I can tell you that if I were behind the wheel of one of those mowers, all campaign signage would be shredded. Are we really going to have to put up with these eyesores until “AUGUST”? Actually, most signs can’t be seen already because of the tall weeds growing around them. Visualize what the roadways will look like by August! Why can’t we have a few (very few) designated areas on public land for advertising elections and why can’t there be a limited time frame? This practice does nothing to enhance the beauty of our community.
