I just wanted to take a moment and thank all the people who made our Adult Education graduation a night to remember. On May 19, 2015 at 7:00 in the evening, Heritage Hall graciously hosted our Johnson/Carter Co. Adult Education graduation. We had 20 students reply to our invitations and attend our GED/HiSET graduation, and we had over 150 guests from the community, comprised of family, honored guests, and dignitaries. Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey and Representative Timothy Hill gave wonderful speeches, along with a special student speaker, Charlie Morefield.
We wanted to specifically thank the following people: Johnson County Board of Education Dr. Mischelle Simcox and her central office staff, Johnson County/Mtn. City Mayors Larry Potter and Lawrence Keeble, School Board chairman Kevin Long, Johnson Co. Commissioners and Mt. City Council for donations used for the student cost of the HiSET test, the Foundation: Fighting for Rural Education for donations toward the cost of the GED/HiSET test, Johnson Co.
