The Carderview Utility District is pleased to announce that the new water tank has been completed and is now supplying water for the residents of Butler. The new bright blue tank doubles the amount of water that the old tank held. It has been a slow and tedious job, always being just a little bit behind schedule due to contractor issues or waiting for parts. Customers were advised two months ago to investigate whether their home needed to have a pressure reducing valve installed prior to bringing the new tank on line. Many customers have done so, while many are adopting a wait-and-see attitude to see if the valve is necessary. The increase in pressure will be happy news for some customers, while others, who live at lower elevations, might have excess pressure, which could put a strain on their current water system.
In the early spring, Carderview UD will be hooking up to the Mountain City water supply. A short line of new piping will allow Butler residents to have access to plenty of water in case Carderview ever had the need. It is a relatively easy project that should be completed in a short amount of time. Carderview will not be using Mountain City water, unless there was an extreme emergency situation.
