“Pick of the Patch” Fall Festival was held on Friday, October 25, from 5-7pm.
With the support of a large crowd of close to 150 residents attending, the event included a car show sponsored by Damascus Motor Sales.
Special music was by Backroad Bluegrass provided entertainment, while a number of vendors lined the sidewalk.
Johnson County Senior Center Director Kathy Motsinger explained that the purpose was for community outreach and involvement.
HOSA Club from the High School played fun games with the Senior Center members, which according to Motsinger was enjoyed by the “students as much as the seniors.”
Farmers State Bank sponsored the festival and gave away prizes.
Rick Moore won first place and $100 for best costume.
Lesa Brown and Jenna Rosh presented plaques and trophies for the car show participants and winners with the help of Steve Arnold.
The “Pick of Patch” car winner was Boyd Dunn.
“The ladies chose Ross Dowell with the long pretty red car,” Brown said.
The event was once again a great success and the seniors are now looking forward to the next event.
