Mountain music, ripe with age, resonated through the hills and hollows of Johnson County in these early days of September. The late summer air fairly dripped with the flavor of a simpler time when friends and neighbors whiled away the evening on the front porch.
Johnson County’s second annual “Long Journey Home – Musical Heritage Homecoming Tour” was held Friday and Saturday and was a success in every sense of the word. Many traveled from other areas to enjoy the homecoming, while for others that still make their homes in these mountains, the journey was one of the spirit. For all, the joining of past, present and future was a magical experience.
