Community Hope Fellowship opens its doors
Johnson County is welcoming a new church to our area with the opening of Community Hope Fellowship located at 1923 Highway 421 near the county bus garage. The church has already began future plans for community outreach. Community Hope Fellowship will begin with an open community prayer night on August 16th at 6:00 pm.

Calvary Baptist Church opens clothes closet to the public
Calvary Baptist Church now has a clothes closet ministry. It will be open to the public on Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

If you are or know of anyone in need, please come visit us on Tuesday nights in our Life Center. They are located at
1324 Cold Springs Road in Mountain City.

First Christian Church Preschool to hold registration
If you are seeking a Christ-centered, academically appropriate and challenging educational experience for your preschooler, First Christian Church Preschool invites you to register your child for the 2014-2015 school year. Children who are potty trained and will be three or four years old by August 15, 2014 are eligible to enroll. There is a $30 registration fee.

First Christian Church Preschool located on Main Street in the church’s educational center, operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. In addition to the registration fee, tuition is $30 per week. For more information, meet the teachers or to arrange a tour of the facilities, please contact the school at 727-1000 or the church office at 727-9151.

Calvary Baptist Church to hold clothing closet ministry
Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1354 Cold Springs Road in Mountain City will hold a clothing closet ministry that is open to the public on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:00. There will be a special clothing giveaway on Saturday, August 9th, 2014 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Free clothing for all ages. Please help us spread the word.

First Freewill Baptist Church to run church vans
First Freewill Baptist Church is running their church vans on Wednesdays and Sundays. If you would like to attend any services, please contact Vance Henderson at 727-7970. If no answer, please leave a message with name, address and phone number.

Rainbow Mennonite Church to hold Mylon Hayes Family concert
The Mylon Hayes family from Lenoir, North Carolina will be in concert at Rainbow Mennonite Church on Sunday, August 17th starting at 111:00. Rainbow Mennonite would like to invite each one to come out to hear some great Southern Gospel music.

Mabel Baptist Church to hold revival
Mabel Baptist Church to hold a revival August 24-27, 2014 on old US 421 Zionville, North Carolina at 7:00 pm nightly. Sunday’s guest speakers will be Brother Ray Greene, on Monday Brother Derick Wilson, on Tueday, Brother Gwyn Anderson and on Wednesday, Brother Eric Cornett. Everyone is welcome. Corinth Baptist Church to hold benefit

Corinth Baptist Church will hold a benefit singing featuring Jonathan Buckler and Chose Road on Sunday, August 17th, 2014 at 6:00 pm. A love offering will be taken to benefit Crystle Lawson and sons to help them through the tragedy of Dewayne’s death. We invite everyone who knows this dear family to join us in a Gospel song service and give to the love offering at God leads you.

Shady Valley Baptist Church to celebrate homecoming
Shady Valley Baptist is celebrating homecoming on Sunday, August 24th. There will be special music at 10:00 and the message at 11:00. Former pastor Richard Stout will be preaching. Lunch will follow in the fellowship hall.

Covenant Bible Church to hold First Annual Biker’s Blessing
Covenant Bible Church to hold first annual biker blessing on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 1:00-3:00. Bikers are welcome. Please join us in an opportunity for food and fellowship. Walnut Grove Baptist Church to hold
homecoming
Walnut Grove Baptist Church invites everyone to homecoming on Sunday, August 17th at 11:00 am. Our guest musician will be Kody Norris. Lunch will be served after the morning worship service.
Roan Creek Baptist Church to sponsor senior conferences
Roan Creek Baptist Church is sponsoring senior conferences, available to all senior adults free of charge on August 30th at Roan Creek Baptist Church on Lumpkin Branch Road in Mountain City. The Young at Heart ministry is sponsoring the event and will have three speakers for three conferences who will present the latest information on the Affordable Care Act. There will be plenty of refreshments and the conferences are held from 8:00-9:00 am, 9:00 am to 10:00 am and 10:00 to 11:00 am. Speakers will be Tracy Pate with Project Access, an organization that provides help with insurance options; Tate Davis, an attorney that will address laws covering seniors and Diane Branch from Mountain City nursing home covering the process of admitting someone to a nursing home and what is covered and what isn’t.
