Seventh Day Adventist Church
to hold Bible School
DANIEL IN CAPTIVITY—There are a lot of lessons we can learn about the Hebrew children in captivity at Babylon. We will hear about how food affects your decisions, how to stand in the midst of persecution and fire, and what to do when jealousy from those around you puts you in bad situations. Bring your kids, 4-14, to Vacation Bible School at the Seventh-day Adventist Church and see! Parents, you are welcome to stay with them during the sessions, many hands for craft time are helpful! This exciting week-long series teaches trust in God, faith, courage, and hope in adverse situations.
The kids will get to practice cuneiform, work with clay seals, decorate a Babylonian tile, and even make a miniature hanging garden. There will be an exotic Shinar World Market Place to shop. Let’s sing together, study, and praise the Lord for His goodness! The Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 1231 Cold Springs Road, just between Dr. Cook’s dental office and Dr. Ehlert’s chiropractic office. Call the church at 727-7329 and leave a message if you wish to pre-register, just names of your children and ages. VBS starts July 20-24, from 9 a.m. till noon.

Dewey Christian Church
Homecoming Day
Dewey Christian Church will hold their Homecoming Day on Sunday August 9 beginning at 10:30. The church is celebrating 83 years of bringing lost people to Christ with the preaching of the Gospel.  We appreciate those who have gone on to be with the Lord who worked so faithfully in years gone by to keep the church strong in the Dewey Community.  We who remain still press on with sharing Jesus with the world, starting here in our own Johnson County.
We invite you to share our 83rd Homecoming Day on August 9th.  We have a great worship service planned to begin at 10:30 as we continue steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine, fellowship, in breaking bread (Communion) and in prayers.  We have great special music and Walter Schwitzerlette from Virginia is our guest speaker.  The Homecoming meal will follow our Morning Worship in the Fellowship Center.   We offer a special invitation to all former members of the church and first time visitors. God’s blessings are guaranteed! We are located at 3548 Highway 67 West, approx. 3.5 miles from the city limits headed toward Butler.
