A Mayberry Merry Christmas in Mountain City

Although Mother Nature pelted Mountain City parade-goers with a rain, sleet and snow mixture most of the day on Saturday, the Christmas spirit surrounding the crowd was warm and welcoming.
“Merry Christmas Mayberry – A Tribute to the 50’s,” the theme for this year’s chamber of commerce parade, sparked the imaginations of many with creative and beautiful floats and costumes abounding.

According to Nancy Drake, Parade organizer, the participation was phenomenal. “Considering the weather, the turnout was great, and we loved that most folks did such a good job incorporating the theme.” Seventeen floats were featured and the big man, himself, Santa Claus, made an appearance all they way from the North Pole.

“We really appreciate The Tomahawk and WMCT radio for all the support,” said Drake.
