The news wasn’t good from Afton on Friday for the Johnson County Middle School basketball teams. The girls lost 43-34 to the Lady Black Knights while the boys were defeated by four in a close knit affair.
Savannah McKinney had 12 points to lead the Lady Longhorns. Macey Luckett added six points. Jacey Eshleman contributed three points, Sydni Potter had two points and Raven Tyron closed out the scoring with a free throw.

The boys were led by Corie Neely’s 13 points. Zack Parsons and Gavin Ward tallied eight points apiece. Preston Greer and Nate Rice each had four. John Stout closed out the scoring with three.
The Longhorns were to play at Hampton on Tuesday.
They will participate in the District Tournament which begins at Chuckey-Doak on Saturday.
