All producers are reminded that the acreage reporting date for fall-seeded small grain crops is Friday December 15, 2017. This applies to all fall seeded crops including winter wheat. Producers who purchased NAP coverage for fall seeded crops, including winter wheat and oats are reminded that December 15th is the deadline for reporting those crops. The final date for reporting honey is January 2, 2018. Apples and peaches have an acreage reporting date of January 15, 2018. All other crops with the exception of hay and pasture has a reporting date of July 16, 2018.
The acreage reporting date for perennial forage crops for the 2018 crop year was November 15, 2017. A late filed fee will apply for reporting these crops after the crop reporting deadline. Farmers and landowners who participate in FSA commodity programs, the Non-insured Assistance Program and who signup up for Lap’s are required to certify all of their crop acres. Acreages are also used to calculate the amount of financial assistance producers can receive through various disaster programs.
