MRS EVA SUE ADAMS BRANNON -
On November 1, 2013, All Saints Day, Eva Sue Adams Brannon was met by choirs of Angels that lead her to Heaven – where she was welcomed by her husband Max, her parents Bruce and Mae Adams along with her departed sisters Irene, Betty, Mary Ruth and Lena Kate and her departed brothers Paul, Sam and Worley.
Eva was born on Sept 10, 1935 in Mountain City, TN. She was the baby of 11 children born to the late Bruce Mack and Stella Mae Adams. Eva met the love of her life, Max Lee Brannon, while attending Appalachian Teachers College (now known as Appalachian State University). On August 1, 1954 Eva and Max were married by the Rev. E. W. Pelleaux in Mountain City, TN and then moved to their first home in Cedar Key, Florida were they spent several years, making some lifelong friendships, which included Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Delano for whom they named their first son Michael Edwin. They moved to Irmo, SC after a short stay in Union, SC, where they again made several lifelong friendships. In 1970 Eva and Max moved to Greenwood SC where they enjoyed raising their three children and made friends that became extended family.
Eva had a very fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was busy carpooling her children to their many events: band practices, dance recitals piano lessons, football practices, theater rehearsals, and Scout activities while she was the den mother for her boys. As a grandmother she also continued to enjoy many of the grandkids activities. She enjoyed many family vacations with her children and grandchildren – Taking trips to New York, Boston, Disney World, an Alaskan cruise, Hawaii, Washington DC, Washington State, and Washington GA. She also visited friends and family in Ohio, NC and the TN Mountains and some relaxing trips to Myrtle Beach.
As the children got older Eva joined the Northside Middle School Work Family. She enjoyed working 34 years alongside what became some of her most dear and loving friends. One of her greatest passions was cooking and baking. Eva always celebrated birthdays making her famous cakes for her friends- the ladies always enjoyed her caramel cakes and the guys her rum cakes. After her retirement she enjoyed many shopping trips, campaigning for Floyd, bridge club, Dining Divas, movies, Ella Julian Circle, dinners out and weekend trips with her dear friends.
