THOMAS K. “CAT” BROWER -
Thomas K. “Cat” Bower, age 40 of 348 Oak Hills Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Saturday morning, May 7th, 2011, at his residence. He was a son of the late William W. “Bill” Bower who passed away in 2010 and Sally A. Bower of Mountain City, Tennessee. Mr. Bower was a member of the Roan Creek Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, NASCAR, and working with youth league football. He was the commissioner for Johnson County Youth League Football and the president of Watauga Junior Athletics.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jeanie Stout Bower, of the home; five sons: Thomas Bower, Robert Bower, Jake Bower, Jimmy Bower, and Ethan Bower all of the home; three brothers: Bill Bower, Knoxville, Tennessee, Jim Bower and wife Susan, Dallas, Texas and David Bower of Mountain City, Tennessee, one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Missy and Eric Haney, Cookeville, Tennessee, mother-in-law Jane Stout, Mountain City, Tennessee and father-in-law Sonny Stout, also of Mountain City, Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Thomas K. “Cat” Bower were conducted on Tuesday, May 10th 2011, in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. David Hankel and Rev. Sam Icenhour officiating; the family received friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Music was under the direction of Allen Yates and Tim Hybarger. Pallbearers: Joe Herman, Kevin Hampton, Rick Mahala, Tim Nelson, Mike Atwood, Austin Atwood, Buddy Throop, Bud Crosswhite, Jim Crosswhite, and David Arnold. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Sutherland, Bill Icenhour, George Smith, Jim Moody, Joel Icenhour, Mib Icenhour, Billy Icenhour and Ross Dowell.
Graveside Services were conducted on Wednesday, May 11th 2011, at 11:00 a.m. from the Sunset Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted but for those who wish memorials may be made to the Roan Creek Baptist church youth fund.
