GEORGE MILLER STANG -
George Miller Stang, age 82 of 972 Roan Valley Drive, Mountain City, TN went home to be with his Lord, from his residence Sunday January 30, 2011. Mr Stang was a native of Dawsonville, Maryland, but had made his home in Mountain City, TN for a number of years.
He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mountain City, TN Mr Stang was a Veteran Merchant Marine, was employed as a manager, designer and builder for the Dept. of Defense in International Development. His hobbies were woodworking and playing golf. In addition to his parents George T. and Mildred Miller Stang, a sister ,Joan Lufkin preceded him in death.
Survivors are; Wife Helen Stang, Mountain City, TN, Son George Stang, and wife Karen, Fairfax, VA, 2 Step Sons, John Baker, Nags Head, NC, Jeff Baker and wife Stephanie, Odenton, MD, 2 Step Daughters; Cynthia Powers and husband Rob, Gaithersburg, MD, Annette Sites and husband David, Fulton, MD, 1 Brother, Walter Stang and special friend, Shirley Kuhlman, Williamston, SC, Granddaughter, Laura Jane Koscho and husband, David, Arlington, VA, Step- Grandchildren, Justin Powers, Beltsville, MD, Charles Powers, Gaithersburg, MD, Chelsea Powers, Gaithersburg, MD, D.J. Sites, Fulton , MD Michael Sites, Beltsville, MD, Leslie Tippett and husband Chris, Beltsville, MD, Jefferson (Jake) Baker, Odenton, MD, Stephanie Ann Baker, Columbus, Ohio, 2 Step-Great Grandchildren, Ella Pearl and Logan Tippett, Beltsville, MD, Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for George Miller Stang will be conducted at 12 noon Friday Feb. 4, 2011 from the Kensington Baptist Church in Kensington, Maryland, with Rev. James Norman and Rev Bill George to officiate.
Music will be by Rev. James Norman. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, MD. Pallbearers will be, D.J. Sites, Michael Sites, Justin Powers, Charles Powers, Jake Baker, Chris Tippett, David Sites, and Rob Powers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday Feb.2, 2011 at the East Side Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home and at the Kensington Baptist Church, from 11 to 12 Noon Friday Feb. 4, 2011 or at the residence 972 Roan Valley Drive.
