For the second time in three years, the JCMS Varsity Baseball Team finished the regular season as champs. The Jr. Longhorns finished the regular season with a mark of 7-3 in conference play and an overall record of 15-3 . Philip Dugger was selected as Co-Conference MVP with Sean Lewis and Bud Icenhour being named to the all-conference team.

Happy Valley 1
A regular-season championship was on the line for the Jr. Longhorns and they did not disappoint the home crowd. Behind a complete-game performance from Sean Lewis, JCMS won its last regular season game of the year by defeating conference opponent Happy Valley by a score of 5-1. Lewis threw a gem by scattering four hits in seven innings of work. Diving catches by shortstop Shane Greer and centerfielder Jonathan Arnold helped to preserve the four-run victory. The Longhorns were led offensively by Shane Greer who finished the game with a 3-4 effort at the plate including a double. Sean Lewis helped his own cause with three hits. Other players contributing hits were McLain Carlton with two hits followed by Philip Dugger, Bud Icenhour and Gabe Reece with one hit each. Johnson County finished the game with eleven hits of total offense on the day.

Following a four-day break for the Easter holiday, the JCMS Varsity baseball team continued to roll with an impressive seven-run victory over conference opponent Happy Valley. The visitors from Mountain City sent nine players to the plate scoring five runs in the decisive fifth inning. McLain Carlton led the offensive attack with three hits and four RBIs. Other players contributing hits were Bud Icenhour, Philip Dugger, Jonathan Arnold and Josh Tierney. Philip Dugger provided a strong pitching performance scattering three hits over 4.2 innings of work while striking out four Warriors to record the win.
