Seventh grade volleyball win first place in conference tournament

Johnson County Middle School 7th grade volleyball won first place in conference tourney on Saturday, October 5th.

The girls defeated Cornerstone 25-18 in the first game, and 25-15 in the second game of the match. Kelly Dugger racked up 17 points in the match.

JCMS then went on to defeat KACHEA 20-25, 25-20 and 15-8. Kaylee Wittenberg had 11 points in the match.

In the championship game, they won over Cedarview 25-6 and 25-15. Kelly Dugger had 10 points in the match.

The eighth grade team finished in fourth place, defeating Sullins 25-9 and 25-8. The leading server was Courtney Brooks with 17 points in the match.

JCMS then lost to KACHEA and Providence.

Shawna Forrester and Channie Herman were named All-Conference recipients.

The volleyball coaching staff (Coach Dottie Sue Phipps and Coach Billie Blevins) and the team wish to thank everyone in the community, parents and JCMS faculty and staff for all their support throughout the season. Whether it was by attending games, supporting the bake sale or by donations, or just wishing luck to the girls, everything that was done is greatly appreciated.
